2. Select File > Open, Locate and Open the appropriate template. (Note to PC users: you may get a message at this point telling you certain fonts contained in the document are not present on your system. This is not a problem; just hit "Continue.")
3. Calibrate the template for your printer (see below).
4. Select the first field you want to add images or color to.
5. To add a colored background to that field, go to Item > Modify, and change the background color in the pop-up menu. (To get a custom color, go to Edit > Colors and create a new color which will be added to the color pop-up menu).
6. To add a picture to the field, select the Content tool (the hand tool) and go to File > Get Picture. Resize the picture if necessary by going to Item > Modify and entering new percentages in the picture scale boxes. (NOTE: all fields are locked by default. This means you can change picture size in the Modify dialog, and nudge the picture within the field using the arrow keys on your keyboard; however, if you want to drag the picture inside the box with the Content tool, you will need to unlock the field first using Item > Unlock.)
7. To add text, create a new text box with the text box tool and place it over the existing fields on the template. Select the Content tool and type your text into the text box. To change the background color from white to transparent, choose Item > Modify and select "None" from the color pop-up menu. To move the entire text box, switch to the Item tool (four-headed arrow) and drag the box wherever you want.
Notes on print calibration in Quark
In Quark, you can save yourself a lot of work (and ink) if you calibrate the document to your printer before you add pictures and text. First, open the template. With the Item tool (the four-pointed arrow) highlighted, choose Edit > Select All to select all the fields on the page. Go to Item > Frame, and select a line width of 1 point. Then print the document onto plain paper. You will get a printout of just the field outlines. Hold this printout up against your NEATO stock to see if it lines up exactly. If not, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge all the fields in the direction you think they need to be moved, and repeat the printout. Once you have the fields in exactly the right position for your printer, go back to Item > Frame and change the line width back to 0 points. Now you can continue with section 4 above to add your artwork to the template. (If you forget to calibrate until after you've added graphics to your document, don't worry - the process is exactly the same. You'll just end up using a little more ink.)

LIST OF TEMPLATES
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Before you pick a template, make sure you know which paper stock you will be printing to! If you have standard US letter size stock (8 1/2 x 11), pick a template from the US list. If you have European/Asian A4 size stock (210mm x 297mm), pick a template from the A4 list. IF YOU CHOOSE THE WRONG TEMPLATE FOR YOUR STOCK, YOUR PRINTOUT WILL NOT LINE UP CORRECTLY!
